International DELF Program

The DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) is a qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (proficiency levels A1 through C2), taking into account all four linguistic competences: writing, reading, speaking and listening.

Grade 12 students can choose to write the DELF B2 exam.

A B2 user has a degree of independence that allows him/her to construct arguments to defend his/her opinion, explain his/her viewpoint and negotiate. At this level, the candidate has a degree of fluency and spontaneity in regular interactions and is capable of correcting his/her own mistakes.

Why take the D.E.L.F.?

  • The top levels of the DELF give access to all French universities and to an ever growing number of European and francophone universities, eliminating the need for pre-admission French language tests.
  • The DELF is a plus to your resumé. Their quality is recognized all over the world, notably by French and European employers. DELF exam centres are present in 163 countries.
  • Many jobs and careers in Canada need employees with bilingual abilities. The D.E.L.F. is an official diploma which credits you with the distinguished skill of functional bilingualism which is valuable in any applications or resumes.
