Cardinal Leger Junior High School offers a wide range of athletic opportunities for students in all grade levels. Physical literacy is integral to the overall education of our students, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. While all students have the ability to incorporate physical literacy through the Physical Education curriculum, participation in team sports promotes the development of leadership skills, self-confidence, resiliency discipline and team building skills.

|The Cardinal Léger Cross-Country team is made up of co-ed athletes from grades 7-9. The cross-country team has no tryout, all participants are welcome to join! The team will compete in two races in September, a trials race and the championship race.|

Senior Boys (Coaches: Eric and Elliot Motut, Gabe Cauti) & Senior Girls (Coaches: Cristine Bolling & Mark Harvanka)
|The Cardinal Léger Soccer program is comprised of two teams; Senior Boys & Senior Girls. Teams will compete in regular season games during the months of September and early October; with playoffs being held in mid-late October.|

The Junior teams compete in "Junior Nights", which are mini-tournaments to develop the skill and love for the game. Senior teams have two major tournaments, a regular season and playoffs. Seniors Co-Ed (Coach: Fab Romano); Junior Development (Coach: Pat Esposito-Neri)
|The Cardinal Léger Badminton team is made up of co-ed athletes from grades 7-9. The team is then divided into two sub teams. The Junior development team, which practices all season but does not compete, and the senior team, which competes in a regular season and playoffs. Athletes compete in singles, doubles, and mixed-doubles.|

Teams: All Grades
The Cardinal Léger Track & Field team is made up of male and female athletes from all grades, that qualify at the school Track Day in May. Those athletes that have success at the school meet will then compete in Zones with other schools from ECSD. Athletes that qualify from Zones will then have the opportunity to compete in the City Championships depending on their placement in the Zone events.

Senior Co-Ed (Coaches: Mark Harvanka & Greg Hansen)
|The Cardinal Léger Slo Pitch team consists of co-ed athletes from grades 7 -9. The team will practice and participate in regular season games during the months of April and May, with playoffs starting at the end of May.|
Season: May - June
Co-Ed; all grades (Coach: Elliot Motut)
The Cardinal Léger Golf Club is a 24 member team, composed of co-ed students from grades 7 - 9. Golf Club meets weekly on Friday after school, where they are transported to Sandpiper Golf and Country Club. With the support of the Head Professional and their coaches, these athletes will develop the skills, knowledge and appreciation of the game necessary to be successful. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary - all skill levels are welcome!

Fitness Club is open 2 days a week after school for students of all grades. With the supervision of Mr. Motut, a certified personal trainer, the students will have an opportunity to further develop their knowledge of fitness and will have the opportunity to progress in their own personal fitness journey.
