March 11, 2022

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Students are now being invited to choose option courses for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about this process and support them in choosing option courses that promote and enhance their skills and abilities as well as meet their needs for future academic endeavours.

It is widely recognized that the addition of a second language allows for broader postsecondary and career opportunities. For this reason, Sir John Thompson is excited to be restructuring our French program to allow for students who have previously not taken French, or left French in an earlier grade, to join the French program in grade eight and/or nine.

Please note that every effort is made to ensure that students are given the options they identify as being their top three choices but, like previous school years, this will depend on program availability and staffing. Requests will be filled on a first come, first served basis so students are encouraged to submit their completed options forms by Friday, March 25th. Additionally, complimentary course offerings are determined by program interest and enrollment which means that Sir John Thompson School reserves the right to remove/replace options should an option receive a low or limited number of student requests.  If students are in person learning, they are to deliver their completed option forms to the office.  Online students are to email their options forms to karen.molyneux@ecsd.net

Please click on the options forms below, print off and bring to the office when complete.
