School Programs
Every year the clubs that are run will vary, as it depends upon student and teacher interest. Some of the clubs that have routinely been run are:
Running Club
Students in grades 3 - 6 have the opportunity to join the Running Club . Practices are held during noon hour in September and October. A city wide race at Hawrelak Park will culminate the hard work of dedicated students and teachers. Running Room Games are also held mid-year, giving students another opportunity to practice and take part in a running competition.
Volunteering/Service Opportunities
Students at Mary Hanley have the opportunity to help provide service to their community by volunteering to be a part of the AMA Patrols, Lunch Monitors, Milk Monitors, Library Helpers and Recycling Coordinators.
Skiing Lessons / Rabbit Hill
Students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 will travel to a local ski hill twice during the winter months. There they take lessons each day and then get to enjoy skiing with their friends. This is usually a highlight of the year.
Swimming Lessons
Students in Grades 1, 2 and 3 will travel to a local swimming pool for numerous lessons. Students have the opportunity to strengthen their skills and / or learn new skills to become stronger swimmers.
After School Sports
In the fall and spring Grade 5 and 6 students are invited to become actively involved in a variety of sports. Sports will depend on student and teacher interest and the time of the year.
