Early Intervention Strategies for Struggling Readers

The learning team at St. Elizabeth uses data gathered from a variety of assessments and observations to identify struggling readers. A school-wide plan is then implemented to address the needs of these students. Depending on the needs of each student, the following programs may be implemented:

  • Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Program
  • District Phonics Intervention Program
  • Levelled Literacy Instruction (LLI) Reading Groups
  • Imagine Learning
