Each grade from K-6 follows the PATHS program as part of the Health curriculum. It is designed to help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
Emotional Behavioural Specialist
Our Emotional Behavioural Specialist (EBS) works with the school learning team - teachers, learning coach, inclusive learning consultant, educational assistants (EAs), therapeutic assistants-behaviour therapists (TA-BTs), and other support staff. Everyone is included in helping create a behaviour support plan for a student who needs one. Our EBS collects data and then develops and implements intervention techniques and strategies.
The EBS also runs groups based on school needs that may include social skills, anxiety strategies, or many other topics.
The sensory room in our school is a quiet, calm space where students can request to come to if needed, or be brought to as a reward to play a game or just have someone to talk to.
The EBS helps create a safe and positive school climate!
