Religious Education

Religious Education:

All schools in the Edmonton Catholic School District use a religious education program that is prescribed by our Alberta Bishops and provided through the National Office for Religious Education in Ottawa. The program ranges from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve and offers students with an overview of our Catholic faith as well as grade specific themes.

Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ reflects the Catholic faith as expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. To explore this curriculum, please see Pearson's publishing website.

Pearson has a Student-Home Website that can be used in various ways. The purpose of this communication is to help the families celebrate their faith together using the Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ resources that are available on the Student-Home website. The piece highlights the multimedia that is found on the website and includes login information for the Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ grades that ECSD has implemented. It can be used in print or digital form for school, teacher, and parent council communications (newsletters, blogs, emails, teacher websites, etc.)

Celebrations:

We celebrate important events in the school and liturgical year with prayer and liturgies. Our students are involved in creating and sharing daily prayers and contribute to our liturgies as a class.
