Elementary (grades 1-6)

Our goal at Father Michael Mireau School is to educate students through a curriculum rooted in Catholic spiritual formation and academic excellence. We endeavour to inspire and empower every student with a passion for learning in a collaborative and responsive environment.  

Faith Formation

Academic Supports

  • Academic support and enrichment through an on-site Learning Coach (LC)
  • Family/School Liaison Worker (FSLW) for student and family supports
  • Emotional Behavioural Specialist (EBS) on-site
  • Inclusive English as a Second Language (ESL) support  
  • French as a Second Language (FSL) instruction for all students in grades 4 to 6
  • Targeted reading support
  • Music instruction for all grade levels
  • 1:1 Chromebooks to support student learning
  • Mathletics online math support
  • RAZ-Kids online reading program
  • Brain POP online academic support

Extra & Co-Curricular Programs

We also offer your child extra and co-curricular activities.  The objectives of school activities are to:  reinforce skills taught during the regular programs, promote good sportsmanship, citizenship, school spirit, and assist in providing a varied program which enhances and promotes positive student attitudes, morale, and Catholicity.  In the area of extra and co-curricular programming, the following activities are available for your child:

  • School-wide Artist-In-Residency program
  • Terry Fox Walk/Run
  • Cross Country Running Club
  • Art Club 
  • Junior Choir
  • Ski trip (grades 4-6)
  • Environment/Recycling Club (gr. 4)
  • Opportunity to participate in school Broadcast Club
