At Bishop David Motiuk, we have a number of online tools and resources, including Online Fee Payments, Bookings for Student-Led Conferences, and ordering for our Hot Lunch program, that are designed to make communication with the school convenient and easy. Information about online ordering of school supplies is available on our School Supplies page.
Online Field Trip and Fee Payments
We are now able to to accept payments for field trips and fees through PowerSchool: https://powerschool.ecsd.net/public/
In order to make online payments, parents must have their own PowerSchool account (not a student account). Parents who require a username or password in order to create a new account are asked to contact the school office at 780-409-2603.
Book Student-Led Conferences
Student led conferences are held in November and March. Parents are asked to use our online booking site to book times with teachers for student-led conferences. In elementary, parents may book 10 minute times to meet with the teacher and may come earlier or stay later than their booked time to have their children show their work to date. In junior high, parents are invited to book 10 minute times with up to three teachers. The conference booking site will open on November 15. Student led conferences will be held on November 20. Parents may register for a Conference Manager Account at any time.
Hot Lunch Program
This year, Bishop David Motiuk will be using Healthy Hunger as our hot lunch organizing service. Hot lunches are offered for students on Tuesdays and Fridays. Our hot lunch providers include Mr. Sub, Booster Juice, Press'd, Panago, Mucho Burrito, Boston Pizza and others. Because our vendors require advance notice, lunch orders must be placed in advance. Parents who have created an account will receive a notice each time a lunch date is added. Healthy Hunger allows a great deal of flexibility for parents in terms of ordering and paying for meals, since it gives parents the ability to change or delete orders up to five days before the lunch date. Parents are also able to order for children in different schools from the same account, as long as both schools use the Healthy Hunger service. Payments for hot lunches through Healthy Hunger are made online only. The school does not collect money for lunches.
To create an online account and to view an informative video about the service, please visit the Healthy Hunger website.
Please remember that changes to orders, including cancellations, cannot be made once the five day cut off has passed for a particular lunch date has passes. If a student is absent or ill on hot lunch day, parents may call the school to make arrangements for pick-up if they wish. Otherwise, the lunch will be donated to someone else.
For parents who do not have access to a computer, we have a computer in our learning commons that is set aside for parent use. Please feel free to drop by the school to use this computer at any time.
Parents with questions or concerns about the hot lunch program are asked to contact the school.
Parents of students in kindergarten through grade nine have the option of either purchasing supplies at local stores, or ordering supply packages through SchoolStart.ca using their online ordering process. Please note that if you have supplies at home, it is not necessary to purchase additional ones. If you choose to purchase supplies at local stores, it is not necessary to purchase specific brands of items.
Please visit our School Supplies page for lists of school supplies recommended by teachers.
