Blended Program
What is blended learning?
Genesis Catholic Online Elementary/Junior High School is so proud and excited to offer a Blended Program to our grade one to grade nine students and families. This program truly allows students and teachers to dive deep into the best of both worlds -the best of our online world and the best of our in-person world!
Students registered in our Blended Program are committing to attend school online for three days a week and in-person, at our school site, for two days each week. Students when in person & online, will engage in learning with the same teachers and the same peers each day. Lessons, projects and activities will all be planned by the teachers to support the digital and hands-on skills that are so essential.

Our in-person days are filled with hands-on learning experiences that take place in a variety of spaces that will be created throughout the year including our:
-Physical classrooms
-"Hands-On, Minds-On Design Thinking Lab"
-Chapel
-Mindfulness Space
-Learning Commons & Library
-TV Broadcast Production Lab
-Gymnasium
-Music Room

What do the in-person days include?

Our in-person days are filled with hands-on learning experiences that take place in a variety of spaces that will be created throughout the year including our:

We are excited that our upper elementary & junior high students will have the opportunity to take part in our sports teams this year. As of now, students will have the opportunity to take part in Running Club, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball & Soccer! Students will also have opportunity to join extra-curricular music based clubs as well. We have built our schedules to allow practices to take part mainly on our in-person days (Tuesday & Fridays).
Students will also engage in a variety of in-person opportunities beyond the classroom such as:
-mentorship opportunities
-extra-curricular clubs
-intramurals
-broadcast
-leadership teams
-field trips
-residencies
-parish visits, etc.
What do the online days include?
Our online days are filled with wonderful opportunities for students to build relationships with their peers and school staff through:
-cross grade mentorship opportunities
-virtual recess
-virtual extra-curricular clubs
-celebrations
-school wide-broadcast
-virtual field trips
-residencies, etc.
Who would benefit from our Blended Program?
Everyone!
So many of our Genesis Catholic Online families have shared their love of our online platform and the successes and connections they have made. Our Blended Program is yet another option for families who want to continue with the online experience while having an in-person experience as well.
Our Blended Program also works well for:
-Those who are fully in-person and missing the online experience
-Those who are fully online and missing some in-person experience
-Students where a full online or a full in-person experience is not the best fit
