Mother Margaret Mary Student Services:
Mother Margaret Mary High School is committed to offering choice and support to students with differing abilities and learning support requirements. We support inclusion by ensuring that students are provided with opportunities to demonstrate their learning both in and out of the classroom. Teachers in all academic streams work in collaboration with the Student Services Team to support the diverse learning needs of our students. Our team includes our Learning Coach, Graduation Coach, School Resource Officer, Emotional Behavioral Specialist, Counselor and a group of talented Educational Assistants.
Mary Anne MacDonald: Learning Coach, International Student Advisor, ELL Designate, First Nations Metis and Inuit Liaison,
Mrs. MacDonald oversees the operations of Mother Margaret Mary's student services department and works in close partnership with all members of our community including staff, students, administration, and families. She works particularly closely with teachers to create and create Individual Program Plans (IPPs), coordinate our Educational Assistants, and be an overall supporting force for all. She has years of experience in Special Needs Inclusive programming and ESL, she wants every single student to succeed to their full potential. You can find her in the Learning Commons. Graduation Coach: Denise Gulli
The role of the graduation coach is to track each student's progress through their high school career while at MMM to ensure they meet all graduation requirements as outlined by Alberta Education. Mrs. Gulli also assists students with post-secondary applications. You can find more information in the MMM graduation coach webpage.
Student counselor: Adriana Henderson
Our Counselor, Adriana Henderson, assists students who deal with a wide range of personal and/or social issues, which may affect their ability to reach their potential at school. If students are in need of assistance from out-of-school or community agencies, contacts and referrals can also be arranged by the school counselor. You can reach her by email at email@example.com.
Sarah Iori: Emotional Behaviour Specialist
Ms. Sarah is joining our student services team for 2020-2021 as our EBS. You can find her in classrooms, in her library office, or taking a calming walk with a student in the hallways. Ms. Sarah works with MMM students to build up their own skills in learning and cognitive strategies, conversation and social skills, cognitive behaviour therapy, self-regulation and mindfulness strategies. Career Support Counselling
Student Services also has a Careers: Next Generation Off-Campus Coordinator who works with students to allow them to explore careers that are in demand. They will be supported in applying for programs such as registered apprenticeship programs, Internships or CO-OP opportunities in numerous occupations and ICT programs that help students expand their tech skills.
