St. John Bosco's Back to School Plan
SJB Back to School Plan
Our SJB Back to School Plan is designed to assist in reducing the risk of transmission of illness and maintaining safe and healthy environments for our students and staff. Some procedures we introduced in our school last year will continue because we know they are good practices in minimizing the transmission of respiratory infections, including COVID-19, influenza, and common colds. We are committed to reviewing our Back to School plan on an ongoing basis, particularly in response to any updated direction from the Government of Alberta. We will continue to review our SJB Back to School Plan on an ongoing basis, in response to any updated direction from the Government of Alberta and direction provided by our District.

- Starting February 14, there will be no masking requirements for children and youth in schools or on school buses in Alberta. This applies to early childhood services (ECS) to Grade 12.
- Children and youth can continue to wear masks if they choose to. Schools should support children and youth who choose to wear masks.
- This does not apply to adults in schools, including school staff and visitors. At this time, masking will still be required for adults.
- Preventative public health measures remain in place in schools, including cohorting and enhanced cleaning.
Starting October 25, 2021, Edmonton Catholic Schools required employees to be fully vaccinated, unless they have an exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground or they participate in regular rapid testing to verify that they are COVID-19 negative.
