Superintendent's Message - November 2007 |

On Sunday, November 4th, families throughout Edmonton will celebrate Catholic Education Sunday. This is an opportunity for all of us - parents, students and staff to reflect on the wonderful right of Catholic education and how instrumental our schools, parishes and homes are in our faith formation. Our faith is strengthened when we participate in sacraments, support our Catholic schools, and establish close working relationships between home parish and school. I thank all parents for nurturing the Catholic faith in your homes as it is crucial in forming a strong base for your child’s spiritual development. Our new Board of Trustees has been working closely together for several weeks. Congratulations to Debbie Engel, Jim Urlacher, Becky Kallal, Cindy Olsen, Rudy Arcilla, Marilyn Bergstra and Kara Pelech for accepting the challenging task of leading Edmonton Catholic Schools for the next three years. On November 11th, Remembrance Day, please take the time to honor the 1,500,000 men and women who have served in combat and peacekeeping roles as well as the more than 100,000 who have died. They gave of themselves so we can continue to enjoy our rights and freedoms in years to come. Sincerely,
“ God saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. Hold to the standard of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Guard the good treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit living in us." 2 Timothy 1:9; 13-14 |
