Superintendent's Message - December 2007

From the Office of the Superintendent

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

(John 3:16-17)

Dear Parents/Guardians:

In the season of Advent, we prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful time to reflect on what happened in Bethlehem almost 2000 years ago. At the first Christmas, our God presented himself to the world as a small baby. He came to be with us, to share our limitations and sufferings.

Jesus was born in a stable, attended by shepherds and warmed by the breath of animals. Angels proclaimed the glory of his birth singing “Joy to the world and peace on earth to people of goodwill.” This is the true message of Christmas: God became Emmanuel; he became one with us.

The Advent and Christmas activities in our schools have been preparing our students to celebrate this reality. I invite everyone to join them in living the message of this Holy Season, that God loves us and invites us to receive this love by receiving his son. Let us rejoice that Jesus was born on this holy night, long ago in the little town of Bethlehem.

May you all have a joyous and peaceful Christmas filled with many blessings and the love of those close to you.

Sincerely,
