Areas For Growth

To ensure high levels of student achievement through the implementation of a strong focus on division one language literacy intervention that would enable our district to commit to ensuring that every child leaving division one who was with Edmonton Catholic Schools for three years in division one would leave grade three being able to read at his or her potential.

To ensure maximum levels of Aboriginal student achievement in all schools in Edmonton Catholic Schools through:

• support for the ongoing initiatives of Aboriginal Learning Services;
• implementation of broad based "best practices" in Aboriginal education as demonstrated by the District's Rainbow Spirit Project; and
• support for the new Alberta Education FNMI (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) initiative and its accompanying funding framework .
