Goals of the Polish Bilingual Program

  • To deliver a quality English-Polish bilingual education which promotes high academic standards
  • To develop the Polish language through the subjects of language arts and other school subjects
  • To explore many facets of Polish culture
  • To foster cultural and educational relations with schools and other educational institutions in Poland
  • To teach the values of multicultural education
  • To integrate teachings of Pope John Paul II, the program’s namesake

The Polish Bilingual Program came into being in September 1984. It is named after Pope John Paul II, the 264th successor to St. Peter. Kindergarten to grade 9 program is offered at St. Basil School. The program continues at grade 10, 11 and 12 levels at Austin O’Brien High School.

Yellow bus transportation to St. Basil School is available from all parts of the city.
