Edmonton Catholic Schools is proud to offer an All Girls Junior High
Leadership Academy. The ages of 12 to 15 are a time in one’s life
in which one develops their identity. We experience life and form patterns
of behaviour that are carried on throughout our adulthood.
By Identifying female roles in society and understanding what women’s
issues in learning, working and living fully are, the All Girls Leadership
Academy will empower young women to achieve academically and grow
spiritually by developing their gifts and talents. A service component
will highlight the belief that we strive for Christ centred communities
built on service to each other.
Edmonton Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the expansion
of the Jean Forest Leadership Academy to Grade 10 for September
2008 at St. Joseph High School. Grades 11 and 12 will
be phased in in subsequent years.
Some possible partnerships could include:
- Cybermentor, University of Alberta (Women in the Sciences)
- Junior Chamber of Commerce
- Newman Theological College
- St. Vincent de Paul
- Marian Centre
