Program Details
- Health Care Aide 2 is a credentialed program of studies that may lead to full Employment in one of Alberta's many Health Care Facilities.
- Classes cover a broad range of topics such as:
- First Aid/CPR.
- Cardiovascular and Digestive systems.
- Musculoskeletal, respiratory and sensory systems.
- Challenged individuals and community volunteerism.
- Paid practicum required for
course completion.
- St. Joseph is the only Edmonton Catholic High School offering this program.
- Enroll in your home high school and access Health Care Aide 2 under the Dual Enrollment program
- Dual Enrolment program allows students to achieve both high school credits and post-secondary credits at the same time.

Admission Requirements
- Grade 10 level English or equivalent.
- Up to date immunization record.
- Physical and cognitive abilities for lab and clinical practicum.
- Health status questionnaire completed.
- Computer skills an asset.
- All students are interviewed for this program of studies
Tuition and Salary
- No tuition or school fees.
- Salary paid for summer practicum.
Program Dates
- Classes begin September 2009.
- Instruction from 12:15 pm to 3:00 pm.
