Apprenticeship and Industry Training

  • Complete your first period Technical program while in high school!
  • Apprenticeship training is for students whose career choice is to be an Automotive Technician, Carpenter or Welder. It is a post secondary program that requires serious commitment from the student!
  • The program runs in the second semester (term 2), starting in January 2009.

Students who Successfully Complete

Students who successfully complete the program will write the first period exam at the end of the semester. Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) students will gain credit for their first year of apprenticeship.

One of a Kind Program

St. Joseph is the only school in Alberta offering this experience. Teachers in this program are Red Seal certificate holders. This means they are all registered journeymen in their trade, capable of meeting industry standard training. Many of our instructors hold both a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Education.

How Can I Get Involved

Applications can be made through your CTS teacher or the administration of your school. This is a unique opportunity for students to get a head start on their post secondary experience.

Do you have what it takes? Are you motivated? Are you a dedicated student with a strong work ethic? If so then we are looking for you.

There are only 15 applicants accepted into each academy per term.
