Anne Anderson ScholarshipThe Anne Anderson Scholarship has been awarded to Aboriginal students in the Edmonton Catholic School District since 1979. Dr. Anne Anderson had a pioneering role in Nehiyaw Pimatisiwin Cree language instruction. Aboriginal Learning Services is honoured to present this award to Aboriginal students in our school district in Dr. Anne Anderson’s name. Braided Journeys/Canadian Heritage Athlete Development AwardBraided Journeys Program in partnership with Canadian Heritage is offering the Athlete Development Award to assist individual athletes to achieve a high level in their sport. This award will be given to athletes attending Edmonton Catholic Schools for further training and skills development at local summer sports camps. The award is for both junior high an high school level athletes. Robert Steele BursaryThis bursary will be awarded to five Aboriginal High School students graduating from Edmonton Catholic School District. In recognition of Robert Steele’s outstanding contributions to Aboriginal student success, this award was created exclusively for students who are successful in completing high school while at the same time encouraging them to further their education.
