H1N1 Influenza Information |

The health and safety of all students and staff is our top priority at Edmonton Catholic Schools. Now that another school year is underway, our attention and awareness returns to the possibility of the H1N1 influenza. We are encouraging parents to monitor your child’s health. If your child has the flu, please keep them home for 24 hours after the symptoms have disappeared. Staff and students are being asked to reduce the spread of germs by washing their hands frequently, covering coughs and staying home from school if they feel ill. Instructional hand washing and cover your cough posters as well as hand sanitizer stations have been installed in all 84 Edmonton Catholic Schools. Your school newsletters have monthly updates on H1N1 and all parents received a Health Fact Sheet on H1N1 and Flu Season late September. A new Health and Safety Fact Sheet, with additional H1N1 information, has been distributed to parents in early November. We have posted additional information, updated regularly, in this section and hope it will help to answer your questions. If you have additional concerns, please call your child’s school or the District office at 780 441-6000. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Joan Carr The Edmonton Catholic School District's Pandemic PlanParents play an important part in keeping their child healthy. Parents are encouraged to ensure your child is well rested, follows the hand washing and cover your cough procedures, and if possible, send hand sanitizer to school for your child to use.
