A
course
taken
from
Revelation
Online
High
School
program
is
very
similar
to
any
course
that
you
may
take
in
a
regular
classroom.
You
still
have:
- A
teacher
who
you
can
contact
to
ask
questions
of
- Students
you
can
discuss
the
topics
with
- Projects
to
work
on
- Assignments
to
complete
- Quizzes
and
Tests
- Notes
- Textbooks
and
resources
- A
schedule
of
due
dates
So
what
is
the
difference
then?
Revelation
is
different
because
our
school
is
open
24
hours
a
day
and
can
be
accessed
from
anywhere
you
have
a
computer
and
internet
connection.
The
flexibility
this
gives
you
in
completing
your
coursework
provides
a
freedom
that
is
necessary
if
you
have
a
hectic
schedule,
cannot
fit
in
all
your
courses
in
your
timetable
or
just
wish
to
take
a
course
in
an
online
format.
A
course
from
Revelation
provides
you
with
the
same
learning
opportunities
and
the
same
expectations
found
in
your
regular
classroom
except
that
the
classroom
is
not
on
the
internet.
You
are
working
in
a
much
more
independent
fashion.
The
skills
you
learn
while
learning
online
will
greatly
enhance
your
overall
learning
strategies
and
skills.
Not
only
do
we
provide
you
the
opportunity
to
access
your
courseware
24
hours
per
day,
we
also
can
provide
you
with
varied
learning
activities
including
access
to
different
web
sites,
use
of
technology
to
complete
assignments,
interaction
with
guest
speakers
via
our
videoconferencing
sessions
and
a
whole
host
of
other
educational
activities.
So
do
I
just
login?
What
do
I
do?
You
can
either
go
see
your
school
counselor
and
pick
up
a
copy
of
our
brochure
or
download
the
registration
form
from
our
website.
Fill
out
the
form
and
send
it
to
the
address
listed
on
the
form.
You
will
then
be
sent
an
email
confirming
your
registration
and
the
start
time
for
your
course(s).
In
that
email
will
also
be
given
you
your
account
information
and
instructions
on
how
to
login
into
your
course(s).
You
can
then
begin
the
Orientation
to
Online
Learning
course.
You
must
complete
this
course
before
you
are
granted
access
to
any
other
online
courses.
Failure
to
complete
this
course
promptly
may
mean
your
registration
will
be
cancelled.
That
is
all
you
need
to
do.
To
register
for
any
online
course,
please
download
the
registration
form
and
fill
it
out
and
fax
it
to
(780)
944-2007.
You
can
also
get
the
registration
form
from
your
school
counselor
or
just
call
944-2000
and
ask
to
register
for
an
online
course.
The
entire
registration
process
can
be
completed
in
just
a
few
minutes
over
the
phone.
Advantage
to
Revelation
courses!
All
Revelation
courses
are
accredited
high
school
courses.
They
are
no
different
than
any
course
you
would
take
at
your
current
high
school
and
are
for
credit.
However,
Revelation
does
have
one
additional
advantage
over
any
course
you
are
currently
taking
at
your
high
school
-
the
online
component.
Over
13
post-secondary
institutes
in
this
province
currently
use
the
same
online
delivery
software
that
Revelation
uses.
This
means
that
students
who
take
an
online
course
will
be
able
to
move
into
the
same
learning
environment
that
they
would
be
participating
in
during
their
additional
learning
years.
All
online
courses
are
designed
that
you
will
meet
your
instructor
at
least
once
in
person.
You
will
meet
your
teacher
at
the
beginning
of
the
semester.
Some
of
our
courses
will
require
that
you
meet
your
teacher
more
than
once.
However,
this
does
not
mean
you
will
never
be
in
contact
with
them.
There
are
several
methods
that
your
teacher
will
be
able
to
use
to
get
in
touch
with
you:
-
A
learning
log
you
will
complete
and
send
to
your
teacher
once
a
week
-
You
can
contact
your
teacher
via
phone
at
anytime.
-
Office
hours
that
are
established
by
your
teacher
-
Using
the
chat
tool
in
D2L
-
Using
the
audio
communication
tools
-
Via
email
-
Using
the
discussion
groups
-
Meeting
with
your
teacher
at
a
location
that
is
convenient
to
both
you
and
your
teacher
Your
teacher
will
help
to
facilitate
the
learning.
In
other
words,
he
sets
the
deadlines,
provides
you
with
the
materials
and
pathways
to
learning.
You,
as
a
student,
are
then
responsible
for
completing
the
tasks.
If
you
do
so
before
the
deadline
date
then
you
have
free
time
to
concentrate
and
focus
on
other
things.
Computer
Requirements
You
do
not
need
to
have
the
latest
and
greatest
computer
to
be
able
to
access
Revelation
Online
courses.
It
is
however
highly
recommended
that
you
do
have
a
computer
to
be
able
to
complete
your
work.
-
A
Pentium
class
PC
running
Windows
95,
98,
NT,
or
ME
or
a

PowerPC
-
An
internet

-

as
our
development
is
done
to
work
specifically
on
Internet
Explorer.
-
A
minimum
of
a
56k

A
DSL
or

connection
is
not
required
however
it
will
allow
you
to
download
materials
at
a
quicker
rate.
-
A
printer
-
A
sound
card
and
microphone
Revelation
does
not
provide
computers
to
its
students.
Computers
can
be
accessed
at
your
school,
through
any
CAP
project
location
or
at
the
Department
of
Alternative & Adult Education Services.
There
are
certain
courses
that
do
require
special
types
of
software
in
order
to
be
able
to
complete
or
view
your
work.
This
software
is
usually
free
from
the
internet,
already
installed
on
your
computer
or
provided
for
you
by
Revelation.
The
following
information
list
is
the
basic
set
of
software
that
is
used
with
Revelation.
- An
internet
browser
-
Microsoft
Internet
Explorer
5
or
higher
or
Netscape
Navigator
4.5
or
higher.
There
are
some
problems
reported
with
Netscape
6
and
some
issues
with
Internet
Explorer
5.5
- All
of
our
teachers
use
Microsoft
Office
to
do
their
work.
A
student
who
wishes
complete
assignments
will
have
to
have
an
integrated
software
package
that
can
read
Office
files.
A
free
software
integrated
package
can
be
located
at
http://www.sun.com/star/staroffice/get/

- Other
programs
that
are
already
installed
or
available
freely
on
the
net
include
-
Flash
Shockwave
player,
Quicktime,
RealPlayer.
Availability
Revelation
Online
High
School
program
is
available
wherever
you
have
an
internet
connection
and
a
computer.
We
have
had
students
who
have
traveled
across
the
world
but
have
brought
with
them
a
computer
to
hook
up
to
the
net
with.
Although
this
poses
problems
with
meeting
with
your
teacher,
it
does
not
mean
you
cannot
complete
your
materials
or
still
be
able
to
discuss
things
with
them
via
email
or
the
net.
Revelation's
goal
is
to
help
students
complete
High
School.
Since
our
classroom
is
a
virtual
classroom,
we
can
provide
you
with
online
courses
via
your
computer.
If
you
are
involved
in
extracurricular
activities
or
have
planned
a
family
trip
that
requires
you
to
miss
school
or
alter
your
timetable,
then
Revelation
may
be
a
solution
for
you.
You
must
however
be
a
valid
Alberta
resident
to
be
able
to
qualify
for
Revelation.
