Maintenance Services

Maintenance SERVICES, with a staff of 55, endeavors to maintain all District facilities and equipment efficiently and economically. With central coordination from the SERVICE Centre, the Department strives to ensure each facility is a safe, healthy and esthetically pleasing environment in which to learn and work. Three Area Supervisors provide a direct link between each building and Maintenance.

Deterioration of District facilities and components is reduced through a preventative maintenance program. Upgrades to depreciating building components are addressed through the provincially funded Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal Program (IMR). This 5 million dollar program restores District facility components to meet health and safety requirements.

Annually, portable classrooms are relocated to accommodate peak enrolment. Mechanical upgrades and lighting retrofits continue and carpets are being replaced with floor tile, all providing improved comfort and cost reduction. Internally, security and communications systems continue to be maintained.

Maintenance SERVICES, through its carpenters, electricians, electrionic technicians, instrumentation, painters, plumbers, glass and floor installer, welder and maintenance workers continues to ensure Edmonton Catholic Schools provides safe, healthy and comfortable environments.
