Educational and Administrative Technology Services (EATS) is made up of four distinct yet unified groups which undertake individual but integrated initiatives that result in an encompassing technology service program for Edmonton Catholic Schools. The four areas include: Data Management Services, Infrastructure Services, Curricular Integration Services, and the Site-Based Technical Support Services. These teams actualize district initiatives in their areas of expertise.
EATS is dedicated to providing a 'Safe and Caring' technical environment for all students and staff of Edmonton Catholic Schools. We are committed to keeping abreast of new technologies and to exploring new methodologies to increase access to online learning resources and expanded options for collaboration and professional development.
- A basic level of support for learners, educators and administrators
- Access to learning tools through participation in programs such as the Microsoft School Agreement
- Access to Internet learning resources in a secure environment through the use of access control and content filtering
- Access to collaboration tools through the use of email and Class
Server
software our curriculum management system
Administrative Technology Services in concert with the Data Project team are responsible for capturing and integrating all
required data within the district. Through our help desk services the Administrative team provides: day to day operational support
to all major district business applications such as:

Curricular Integration Services in partnership with Alberta Education's AISI funding is expanding its ability to serve and support
our schools in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) integration. The Site Based Technology Integration
Program is designed to:
- Provide teachers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively integrate the ICT curriculum
- Provide students with increased access to technology
- Provide students with technology rich activities that give them the opportunity to acquire new skills
- Assist teachers in the development and implementation of integrated projects that encourage students to develop higher
level thinking skills
Curricular Integration Services is also involved in the implementation and
support of the district's web based report cards, IPP and a curricular management
software call 'Class
Server' .
We are striving to harness the power of the World Wide Web by providing an environment, called 'Class Server' which will
improve the ability for teachers to share resources, access information and learning opportunities. This environment also provides
parents with an opportunity to share in their child's learning by providing an anywhere, anytime learning environment.

| Edmonton Catholic Schools provide parents with a window into the classroom with Microsoft Server Software
Edmonton Catholic School District (ECSD) oversees the education of over 31,000 students throughout its 83 schools. In 2003 the ECSD decided to build a Web-based system making student work and performance information available to students and parents through a network based on Microsoft® Windows ServerT 2003 operating system and Microsoft Class Server 3.0. The new IT environment has helped reduce network support requirements for each school involved. It has also made it possible to improve communication with parents, helping them play a more active role in their children's education.
