Superintendent's Mission Statement
Joan Carr, Superintendent
of Schools
To empower students, staff and parents to experience the joy and fulfillment of a truly Catholic education, striving for excellence in all areas while sharing in the vision of our risen Lord Jesus Christ.
"The talents God has given us are not ours...they have been given to us
for our use, for the glory of God. Be great and use everything you can for
the good Master."
"Give of your hands to serve and your hearts to love."
-Mother Teresa
Superintendent's
Council
The Council, which deals with strategic and operational issues as well as global issues for the district, is made up of all assistant superintendents, legal counsel, and elementary, junior high and high school principal representatives.
The role
of the council is to:
- Assist in the establishment of district priorities
- Review and provide guidance from a global, strategic perspective regarding district issues and operations throughout the year
- Enhance communication between central services and school sites
- Serve as one aspect of the district’s administrative leadership team
- Problem solve
- Receive information and input from school principals relative to district matters
- Give advice, guidance and counsel to the superintendent. The council is a decision making body. However, some final decisions are made by the superintendent, while those which are legislatively decisions of the Board, are brought forward as recommendations to the Board, with the Board having the ultimate responsibility to decide in these areas.
