Alternative and Adult Education Services strive to meet the needs
of the community by offering alternative, supportive and
complementary learning and growth opportunities for students
within our District, and English language programs for adult
newcomers to our community.

for Senior High School Students (Fresh Start sites of Downtown,
North, Northwest, South, West, and Mill Woods)

Program - junior high outreach at Fresh Start Northwest and Fresh Start Millwoods

Online high school program (virtual learning)
- Our Lady of
Grace Program for pregnant and parenting teens

at St. Margaret - junior and senior high students
diagnosed with severe behavioral disorders
- P.A.S.S. - Part-time Alternative Self-paced School (high school
courses)

School learning opportunities (four high schools and Fresh Start sites)

Preparation courses for senior high students
- Tutorials
(Saturday
morning classes for elementary and junior high students)
- High School Completion Rates in conjunction with A.I.S.I. -
Alberta Initiative for School Improvement
- Aboriginal Career Facilitation - in conjunction with Aboriginal
Learning Services

(Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) programming
- Case Management for all district students on Student Finance

Alternative and Adult Education Services operates 10 off-site locations with 23 different
programs as part of its district mandate, in order to offer successful
alternative programming for students and adults.
