Staff members of Edmonton Catholic
Schools are a team of over 3000 people who work together to provide
quality Catholic education to over 32,000 children.
No matter what role each staff member has, it is and must always
ultimately be about serving the educational needs of the children in
our schools.

Study applauds Edmonton Catholic School
District's Outstanding Results in Student Achievement A
study that was just released by The Society for the Advancement of
Excellence in Education - a Canada-wide research organization which
studies and publishes "best practices" in Canadian education -
examines Edmonton Catholic Schools for excellent student achievement
results.
Edmonton Catholic School District is the only metro
school district in the province chosen for the study where students
consistently did better on provincial achievement tests over a
five-year period. The focus of the study, 'District Practices and
Student Achievement,' analyzes what Edmonton Catholic Schools
District is doing right.
The study consists of interview
data and reports gathered from trustees, senior administration,
principals, teachers and School Councils. Among other things, it
concludes that our district's sharp focus on student learning is key
to the success of our students, and that teachers and principals
take pride in our district because they share in the planning,
decision-making and student successes.
An unnamed Edmonton
Catholic teacher is quoted in the study as saying: ".our schools
radiate hope and joy and love because that core of who we are is
very clear."
For more information on the study, visit The
Society for the Advancement of Excellence in Education web site at:
