"You need to take every opportunity
to learn from each other as professionals. A professional learning
community is based on these interactions." In the past three years, the initiative has provided extensive training and support for school-based leadership teams through a series of professional development sessions that are coherently conceptualized and delivered. This approach encouraged the building of collaborative learning cultures with the active engagement of educators in the learning process. Assessment For Learning has provided a mechanism for across school-sharing whereby cumulative development can be fostered. Dr. Michael Fullan, Dean of Education at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto and his colleague, Dr. Carol Rolheiser, Associate Dean have been the principal presenters. Dr. Barrie Bennett and Dr. Anne Davies have also taken a role in presenting the latest research and strategies in Assessment For Learning. |
