EMU - Early Learning Mobile Unit

Edmonton Catholic Schools is excited to offer a new, innovative program designed to create positive learning experiences for children and parents outside of an Early Learning classroom.

The EMU – Early learning Mobile Unit, being introduced this fall will offer a distinctive play area in a cozy and unique environment.  The EMU will offer family-friendly, fun and stimulating activities for both children (aged two and one half to five) and their parents. Take-home ideas from each session will be provided to assist parents in creating a positive learning environment at home.

Children will have the opportunity to engage in developmentally appropriate learning and parents will be able to connect with other families and resources in their community.  Our interactive 1.5 hour program will include circle and story time, play centers and physical activities.

Families visiting the EMU will have access to:              EMU - Early Learning Mobile Unit

  • Reggio inspired learning approach
  • Literacy rich environment
  • Inclusive Programming
  • Services of a multi-disciplinary team including: Speech-Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Specialist, Adapted Physical Education Specialist, Family School Liaison Workers
  • Language interpreters as needed
  • Learning through play

Program Highlights

Early Learning Moblie unit

Onboard the EMU, parents and children will be able to experience a sample of programs, such as Triple P Parenting, Kids Have Stress Too, and Rhymes That Bind.  Families will engage in the world of children’s play within a stimulating environment that will encourage the development and growth of their child, while supporting parents in their role. 

The EMU meets families in their communities and is a catalyst that connects families together, as well as existing resources and agencies, in their neighbourhoods.

The EMU offers 3 Programs daily:
AM: 9:30-11:00
PM: 1:00-2:30      
Drop In: 11:15am-12:15pm
We will be closed from 12:00-1:00
